Digital Marketing Course Fees in India: What You Actually Pay in 2026

Fees for digital marketing courses in India run from zero to several lakh rupees. This guide breaks them down by course type, shows what the fee usually covers, and lists the extra costs most brochures leave out.

Digital marketing course fees in India compared by course type
Quick answer: Digital marketing course fees in India range from free (Google Skillshop, HubSpot Academy, LinkedIn Marketing Labs and Meta's free courses) to about ₹1–3.5 lakh plus GST for IIM executive programmes, such as ₹1,05,000 + GST for IIM Indore's online programme. Live online bootcamps sit in between: the ISS 16-week Marketing & Growth program costs ₹69,999, or ₹66,499 if paid upfront. Budget separately for ad spend, tools and any paid certification exams.

How much does a digital marketing course cost in India?

The honest answer is "it depends on the format". A self-paced platform course and a 10-month IIM executive programme are both called digital marketing courses, but they are different products. The table groups the main options by type, using fees published on official pages in September 2026.

Course typeExample (official page)Published feeTypical length and format
Free platform coursesGoogle Skillshop, HubSpot Academy, LinkedIn Marketing Labs, Meta's free coursesFree (foundational Google certifications and all LinkedIn Marketing Labs certifications are free)Self-paced, a few hours per course
Paid platform certification examsMeta Certification examsUS$99–150 per exam; price varies by countryProctored exam; the preparation course is free
Live online bootcampISS Marketing & Growth₹69,999 (₹66,499 if paid upfront)16 weeks, about 12–14 hours a week, live weekend sessions
Online certificate course from a private instituteIIDE Advanced Certification in Digital MarketingPage shows EMIs from ₹15,575 a month; check the provider's page for the full fee4–6 months, weekday or weekend batches
IIM executive programme (online)IIM Indore via Emeritus₹1,05,000 + GSTAbout 20 weeks, recorded lectures plus live workshops
IIM executive programme (live online)IIM Kozhikode via Jaro Education₹1,80,000 + GST, plus ₹2,000 + GST application fee9 months, 120 hours, Sunday live sessions
IIM blended programmeIIM Ahmedabad Digital Marketing programme₹3,50,000 + 18% GST4–5 months with 14 days on campus
Full-time campus PG programmeIIDE PG in Digital Marketing & Business StrategyPage shows EMIs from ₹30,301 a month; check the provider's page for the full fee11 months, on campus in Mumbai or Delhi

Two patterns stand out. First, many executive programme fees are quoted before GST, so the amount you pay is higher than the headline. Second, some institutes show only a monthly EMI on the page. Always ask for the total fee in writing, including taxes, before comparing.

What does a digital marketing course fee usually include?

Two courses with the same fee can include very different things. When you compare, list what each fee actually buys:

  • Teaching format: live classes with a faculty member, recorded lectures, or a mix. IIM Indore's programme, for example, is mainly recorded lectures with live workshops, masterclasses and weekly office hours.
  • Feedback on your work: whether a person reviews your campaign plans, SEO audits and copy, or whether assignments are auto-graded.
  • Live practice: whether you run real campaigns, and who pays for the ad spend.
  • Certificate: who issues it and what you must do to earn it. IIM Indore, for instance, requires 70% in assignments and the capstone and viewing at least half of the video sessions.
  • Career support: resume and portfolio reviews, mock interviews and job-search help. Treat any wording like "placement assistance" as support, not a job offer, and ask what it means in practice.
  • Extras: alumni status, campus visits or tool licences. Some are charged separately; IIM Indore lists lifetime executive education alumni status at ₹10,000 + GST.

What extra costs should you budget for: ad spend, tools and exams?

The course fee is rarely the full cost of learning digital marketing. Three items are usually extra.

1. Ad spend for practice campaigns

You learn paid media properly only by spending real money and reading real results. Google Ads does not list a minimum budget on its help pages; you set an average daily budget and Google advises starting small and checking results daily. Most courses do not cover your ad spend, so ask.

ISS estimate: a small practice campaign on Google or Meta can be run for roughly ₹3,000–10,000 over a few weeks. This is our estimate for learning purposes, not a benchmark. Actual costs depend on your industry, audience and bids.

2. Tools

Many core tools have free versions, such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Meta's ads tools. Paid SEO suites cost more: Semrush's paid plans start at about US$139 a month billed monthly, with a seven-day free trial and a limited free tier. A good course should show you how far free tiers can take you before you buy anything.

3. Certification exams

Google's foundational Skillshop certifications are free, and LinkedIn Marketing Labs says all its courses and certifications are free. Meta's certification exams cost US$99–150, depending on the exam and your country. Meta's Digital Marketing Associate certification is valid for 24 months and most professional-level Meta certifications for 12 months, so budget for renewals too.

Meta certification examUS$99–150 per examYes; the training is free and the exam is optional

Is a more expensive digital marketing course better?

Not by default. A higher fee usually pays for brand, faculty time, campus days or a longer duration. Whether that is worth it depends on where you are in your career:

  • Mid-career managers with several years of work experience may value an IIM executive certificate and peer network. Some of these programmes require work experience; IIM Kozhikode's asks for two years after graduation. See our IIM digital marketing course review.
  • Freshers and career switchers usually need hands-on practice and a portfolio more than a brand name. A bootcamp or institute course with graded projects often fits better. Our guide on a digital marketing portfolio for freshers shows what employers look for.
  • Self-starters on a tight budget can go a long way with free platform courses, then pay for a course later if they need structure and feedback.

What should you ask before paying a course fee?

  1. What is the total fee including GST, and is anything charged separately (exams, alumni status, tools)?
  2. How many hours a week are live, and how many are recorded?
  3. Who reviews my assignments, and how quickly?
  4. Will I run a real campaign? Who pays the ad spend?
  5. What will I have in my portfolio at the end?
  6. What is the refund policy, in writing?
  7. What exactly does career support include, and do you guarantee a job? (A straight answer here tells you a lot.)
  8. Are EMIs offered through a lender, and what are the interest and processing charges?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the average fee for a digital marketing course in India?

There is no single average because formats differ so much. Free platform courses cost nothing, live online bootcamps are often under ₹1 lakh (ISS charges ₹69,999), and IIM executive programmes checked in September 2026 range from ₹1,05,000 + GST to ₹3,50,000 + GST.

Can I learn digital marketing for free?

Yes, you can learn the basics free through Google Skillshop, HubSpot Academy, LinkedIn Marketing Labs and Meta's free courses. What free courses rarely give you is live feedback on your work and a structured portfolio, which is what most paid courses charge for.

Is the Meta Blueprint certification free?

Meta's training courses are free, but the certification exams cost between US$99 and US$150 depending on the exam and your country, according to Meta's certification FAQ.

Do I need to pay for ad spend during a digital marketing course?

Often, yes. Most courses do not fund practice campaigns. Ask the provider before you enrol. As an ISS estimate, a small learning campaign can cost roughly ₹3,000 to ₹10,000, but this varies by industry and audience.

Does a higher course fee mean better job chances?

Not necessarily. Employers hiring freshers usually look at your portfolio, campaign results and how you explain decisions. A higher fee may buy brand value or campus time, which suits some mid-career learners more than beginners.

How much does the ISS digital marketing program cost?

The ISS Marketing and Growth program costs ₹69,999, or ₹66,499 if paid upfront. Applying is free, and you pay only after accepting an offer. Instalments are discussed with admissions.
